If you are someone who is shopping for a diamond engagement ring, then you’re probably planning a proposal in the near future. First things first - Congrats! Proposing to a girl is a memorable moment in anyone’s live and is a moment that every girl has dreamed of since she was playing with barbies.

Time for the crucial part of the process - finding an engagement ring! For many guys, this is the hardest part of getting engaged. We all know that women love their diamonds! Unfortunately, most men have never bought a diamond before so they have no idea what to look for.

It’s normal to get a confused when you first enter a jewelry store. You see all these shiny diamonds and some very big pricetags! And as you can probably guess, the salesperson is most likely going to show you the most expensive diamonds first!

Honestly, don’t worry about a thing With a little research, you will find a fantastic engagement at an unbelievable price. Don’t pay attention to the pricetags that you see in the shops - these prices are NOT what you will pay. There’s a lot of wiggle room and more importantly, you can hunt for a diamond with certain characteristics so you get the biggest value your buck.

One of the most important parts of shopping for an engagement ring is to get educated about how diamonds are graded. Find a good diamond buying guide to give you a hand. Understand the “4 C’s” and how the labs grade diamonds.

Once you understand the 4 C’s, you will have a clearer understanding of what is considered when pricing a diamond. From there, you can decide which grading characteristics are important to you and your special someone when selecting a ring.

It’s important to decide how much you are willing to spend, and stick with it. You can increase the size of your diamond simply by going down a grade in one of the 4 C’s. For example, by going from a “F” color graded diamond down to an “I”, you can save huge dollars or be able to bump up the size of the diamond by a good amount.

Wll, get to it! Go snag that perfect ring!
